We are using InstallBuilder to install one of our products. Even the Variables section of your own documentation claims that the verbosity gives developers a point of reference, in a large project, rather than an obscure variable name, mysql_port. But, I think that the ability to specify component(mysql).parameter(port) = 8888 (or even better mysql.port) would be better than forcing projects to have unique parameter names throughout. I imagine this has something to do with command line/options usage. What is the best practice for something like this? Is there a reason why the parameter name itself must be unique throughout the entire project?
